JOYCE GINATTA

Well  known Ecuadorian National and International Lecturer, Enterpreuneur Leader, First person to recommend Dollarization,system in Ecuador which was done afterwards. This meant the elimination of the local currency and the adoption of a strong currency as the dollar. She obtained her Business Administration degree at the University of Guayaquil, and then graduated in Harvard University in the OPM Program ( Owner President Management). Along the twenty eight years of her successful career, she has been role model of honesty, leadership and struggle. She was hired by the Salvadorian Government for supporting and counseling the implantation of the Dollarization System in that country .She headed prestigious organizations such as the Chamber of Small and Madium Enterprises, (FIE), International Women’s Forum,(IWF) chapter Ecuador, AIME , President of Mipymes magazine, she leads a T:V: program called “Bajo la Lupa “, She became Consul of Italy, in 2002, She got the highest Decoration from the National Congress in January 28, 2002 ; In December 10, 2002 she got a Decoration Called: De la Orden Nacional al Mérito, which was given for the first time to a civil.  She was nominated by the President of Ecuador since 2004, as President of the National Council of Competivity.

CURRENT PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

• President of FIE (organization that gathers Entrepreneur Associations from countries of America. Its General Secretary is at Buenos Aires, Argentina)
• Member of the Board of Directors of the Private Sector of the Americas, Organization of American States (OAS).
• President and Founder of the Ecuadorian Chapter of International Women’s Forum (IWF), which main office is located at Washington DC.
• President of J&JH Consulting International, with branches in Guayaquil and Madrid

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED:

• Ad-honor Consul of Italy (February 2003 – July 2007).
• Former President of the Committee on Competitiveness reporting to Ecuador’s President (January 2004 to January 2005).
• Former President of the Latin American Association of Businesswomen, Ecuador (AIME), 1994 – 2000.
• Former President of Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises –PYMES- (January 1991 to December 2001)
• Former President of Chambers of Small Enterprises National   Association   in Ecuador –FENAPI- (1998 to April 2000)
• Former President and owner of FERRISARIATO, the biggest chain of home center stores in Ecuador
• Former President and owner of FERCONSA, a wholesale hardware store.

HONORS:

Among the honors she has received, the most significant are:

• Awarded with the Medal of the National Order with the Degree of Commander, December 23rd 2003.
• Mention International Women’s Forum: IWF Woman Who Makes a Difference 2008.
• Awarded with the “Dr. Vicente Rocafuerte” Medal granted by the Ecuadorian National Congress because of “her distinguished and hard work as an entrepreneur”.
• The “FIDE” Prize  granted by the Latin American Federation of Businesswomen (Spain) to the Best Industrialist/Businesswoman.
• “IRON AWARD” 2001, by the Capig’s Board of Directors, during the International Congress “Rescuing America toward the XXI century: Competitiveness is a key for exportations”.
• Woman of the year 1997″ by Vanidades magazine.
• Medal to “EDUCATION MERIT” granted by the High School Domingo Comín.
• “Woman of the year 1995 ” by the Publishing Editing Council of the Economic Seminary. 
• “Celebrity of the Year “by the Association of Guayaquil Journalists.
